Cath says so long and thank you as Bees closes its doors

It breaks my heart to write this. I know this is the time to close Bees on a Bicycle. When you put your heart and soul into a business, it is hard to know when to end it.

Bees has been a sanctuary for many. I've watched people cry openly from memories or plants in hand as they honor a loved one. I cherish those moments shared.

This has also been the happy place for many, often traveling many miles to get here. We were so glad to greet you and loved watching your faces light up gleefully!

I think about the many interns, Zen Waterers and employees that gave countless hours and true sweat and a few tears too. We all were a little raw at Bees and grew from it.

Then there were the plants, the pollinators we shepherded, the minds we opened and others that we perplexed and sent on their way. Bees was not for everyone, but those that loved it knew it immediately and returned again and again.

There are too many to thank here, but you know who you are and how dear you are to me. May our paths meet again and share a bright smile and maybe a beer or two.

I'll miss Bees. I'll miss you, but will remain in Chattanooga, so feel free to say hello. On a personal note, I look forward to getting back to the organizational and program management world with my talents you are welcome to read about here if you are curious. A few folks have written references you may want to read too. Please spread the word for this eager worker.

Logistical details are listed here. We wish to end with a sense of grace and dignity. Please work with us and treat us accordingly. It will be a difficult to close, but this is the time.
